The data controller of persons participating in the Event "13th Asia-Pacific International Conference entitled: Towards the Indo-Pacific: new strategies and patterns of international cooperation and exchange" (hereinafter referred to as the Event) is the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University (UMCS), based in Lublin, Pl. Marii Curie-Skłodowskiej 5, 20-031 Lublin. 2. Personal data is provided on a voluntary basis; however, without providing such data it is not possible to participate in the Event. We will process the following categories of personal data: the personal data indicated in the form and the image. 3. The basis for processing personal data is: • Article 6(1)(a) GDPR, i. e. on the basis of your consent to the processing. And also: • Article 6(1)(b) GDPR - processing is necessary for the performance of a contract to which the data subject is party or to take steps at the request of the data subject prior to entering into a contract, • Article 6(1)(c) of GDPR - the processing is necessary for the fulfillment of a legal obligation incumbent on the controller (Higher Education and Science Act, implementing regulations of the Act, as well as accounting and tax law); • Article 6(1)(e) of GDPR - processing is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest, to the extent necessary to ensure the development of science and innovation in the economy; 4. The controller has appointed a person to supervise the correctness of the processing of personal data, who can be contacted at iod@mail.umcs.pl. 5. Data will not be subject to further processing or profiling, nor will decisions be made on the basis of it in an automated manner. In justified cases, the data may be made available to external recipients, including the co-organiser of the Event, i.e. Wrocław University of Economics and Business, 118/120 120 Komandorska St., 53 345 Wrocław, NIP: 896 000 69 97. The data will not be sent to third countries and international organisations. 6. The data will be processed exclusively for the purposes of the Event, for statistical and archival purposes, during the period of the Event, as well as after the end of the Event for billing purposes, for archival purposes and for the establishment and assertion of possible claims during the period provided for by the law, on the basis of and in connection with the fulfilment of the obligations imposed on the data controller by these provisions. After the periods indicated above, they will be permanently deleted in a way that prevents unauthorised access. 7. You have the right to: • access to and copy of data; • correct (amend) your personal data; • restrictions on the processing of personal data; • deletion of personal data (subject to Article 17(3) GDPR); • withdraw consent to data processing, if given; • lodge a complaint with the President of the Data Protection Authority if you consider that the processing of your personal data is in breach of data protection laws. 8.
